- To give through an IRA QCD today, direct your IRA trustee to transfer funds to LWVSF. It must be a direct transfer from your IRA to us for it to count as a QCD. Be sure to check with the IRS or your tax advisor about the maximum QCD annual exclusion.

- With LWVSF as a beneficiary, your residual funds go where you choose, instead of your DAF sponsor's gene

- To award a DAF grant to LWVSF today, direct your DAF sponsor to send it to LWVSF.

Bequests and beneficiary designations can be updated anytime your preferences change. Transferring life insurance policy ownership, making an IRA minimum qualified distribution (QCD), and granting from a donor advised fund (DAF) are permanent.
Not necessarily. Many planned gifts just take a little paperwork. We recommend talking to a lawyer or financial advisor for anything complex. If you don't have a will, tools like FreeWill can get you started.
Unrestricted gifts allow us to serve San Franciscans wherever the need is greatest in the years ahead. That said, we're happy to discuss designating your gift for something specific, like voter education or advocacy, though keep in mind that our nonpartisan commitment means we can't accept gifts with certain requirements.
