Inspector of Elections

As a part of our effort to promote citizen participation in the democratic process, the League of Women Voters of San Francisco provides election monitoring services for community organizations such as home-owners associations. We are asked by these organizations to send representatives to independently oversee their elections to ensure that they are transparent and fair.

The League of Women Voters of San Francisco charges $50 per hour per inspector for this service, with a minimum charge of $250, and requires that a minimum of 3 inspectors are present for the inspection. Generally, we are only able to inspect elections that are in the evenings or on weekends due to the schedules of our volunteers.

If you are interested in having us inspect an election for your organization, please contact us at lwvsf@lwvsf.org. Please include the following information in your email:

  • The date and location of your election
  • The organization’s bylaws
  • The organization’s election rules (if applicable)
  • The organization’s list of members
  • The materials distributed to voters

If any of these materials are not available at the time of your request, please include a timeline of when they will become available.
