This year has been a busy one! We at LWVSF want to pause mid-year to reflect on all we have accomplished thus far and then energize ourselves for more work ahead. We continue to be a trusted source of nonpartisan information. With your help, we can expand our services and reach even more voters in our community.
We ask you to help us make democracy work in San Francisco. Make a donation and it will be matched by the board of directors, doubling your impact.
Give $65 to honor the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and support our efforts to open the political process to every voter.
Give $112 to represent the 112 languages spoken in San Francisco.
Give $232 for the years it took for a Black woman to become a Supreme Court justice.
Or donate any amount you can to make democracy work!

“Redistricting is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to determine our local government. It was important to advocate for a fair, transparent, and accessible redistricting process so San Franciscans could actively participate in the process that will have ripple effects for the next ten years."
— Jen Tse, LWVSF board member
“I was introduced to the League of Women Voters when looking for information on ballot measures and came across the Pros and Cons Guide. I find it satisfying that there is a source that voters can rely on to get accurate information to make their choices.”
— Connie Leonard, LWVSF Pros & Cons Chair
“I’m grateful for the many opportunities the League provides for community service! Fellow members have encouraged me to write informative resources about voting, and contribute to an initiative to significantly increase the number of elderly and disabled voters.”
— Linda French, LWVSF member

It has been a really successful year for LWVSF! We led the way in educating San Franciscans about redistricting. Our members attended every public meeting of the Redistricting Task Force, worked with the community, and shared information about how people can engage in the process.
In preparation for the statewide election on June 7, LWVSF created nonpartisan voter education materials so that San Francisco residents can make informed decisions. Our Pros & Cons Guide has detailed analysis of the eight local ballot measures.
It’s because of defenders of democracy like you that we have been able to accomplish all this and more this year. But we have so much more to do!
With a gift from you we will be able to expand our reach to a greater population of San Franciscans by translating our Pros & Cons Guide into more languages.
Due to the cost of translation and printing, LWVSF hasn’t yet had the opportunity to translate our reliable election education materials beyond Spanish and Chinese. With your help we would be able to offer our voter resources in other primary languages, such as Vietnamese, Filipino, Burmese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Russian to reach a greater population of San Francisco residents.
Make a donation today and together we will make democracy work for everyone in San Francisco.
