Charlotte Dodson, Youth Council Chair

Charlotte Dodson is a student at San Francisco University High School and the current Chair of the League of Women Voters of San Francisco’s Youth Council. In addition to her role as Youth Council Chair, Charlotte is a member of LWVSF's Voter Services Committee and a contributor to the Pros & Cons Guide. Charlotte is passionate about voting rights, democracy, and politics and has experience in political campaigning and advocacy. At her high school, she expanded her advocacy skills as the co-leader of the Model United Nations and debate teams. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys playing field hockey and lacrosse and going on runs in the Presidio.

Cindy is a junior at the University of San Francisco, majoring in politics with minors in legal studies, psychology, and Japanese. She has previously worked for several grassroot organizations serving the Asian American and Pacific Islanders community. She is currently involved in her university-wide student voter registration initiative and has been an election poll worker. In her free time, Cindy likes to cook a variety of cuisines and watch anime. She also has a PomChi that she takes everywhere with her named Lulu.

Gabriela Trujillo is a senior at The Bay School of SF and a member of the LWVSF Youth Council. Growing up in the Mission District and being involved with local grassroots efforts has formed and fueled her passion for various social justice matters, especially those that affect under-resourced and underrepresented communities in the city. As co-leader of her school’s social justice club and past high school ambassador with the Department of Elections, Gabriela is determined to do everything she can to uplift the voices of all youth in San Francisco and ensure they’re informed, aware, and have various opportunities to become civically engaged. In her free time, she enjoys going on nature walks, writing, meeting new people, and discovering new music and books.

Kinnari Atluru is a senior at University High School and member of the LWVSF Youth Council. Kinnari joined the Youth Council because she is passionate about voting rights and wants to help her peers have the access and information they need to act on issues important to them. At school, she is a peer advisor, Mental Health Coalition leader, Students for Women's Equality and Rights club leader, and a varsity volleyball captain. In her free time, she loves to bake, read, and ski with her family.

Shavonne is a second year political science major on the pre-law track at Hampton University. Born in San Francisco, Shavonne has always had a passion for advocacy. Shavonne is an activist, most notably known for her work as student delegate on the San Francisco Board of Education. On campus, she is a member of the Student Government Association Cabinet, Women’s Caucus, First Generation Gems, Mosaic, Black Femme Minds, and West Coast PAC. She also serves as president of Hampton University Black Girls Vote. In her free time, Shavonne enjoys spending time with friends, making an impact in her community, and listening to music.

Sierra Sun

Sierra Sun is a senior at Lowell High School. Aside from being a reporter for her school's newspaper, The Lowell, and a member of the Model UN team and cheer team, she is deeply passionate about uplifting youth voices in advocacy, especially her own. In doing so, she has led many efforts such as Provide Advocacy and Care to All SF, or PACA SF. It's a youth-led nonprofit that hosts year-round internships for high school students. She also has experience with canvassing volunteer work. Sierra believes voter participation is crucial for civic engagement and a functioning democracy. Her work on the LWVSF Youth Council is aimed to fulfill her interest in shedding light on community issues and advocating for the voices of those who are often underrepresented.
