Thank You! Women Who Could be President Gala A Great Success

The revival of the League’s “Women Who Could Be President” award, celebrated with a
February 12 gala at the City Club, was a great success, raising thousands of dollars
to support the League’s voter education programs. We were delighted to honor the
contributions of Elmy Bermejo of the California State Commission on the Status of
Women, Kimberly Brandon of Morgan Stanley, Clothilde Hewlett of the firm Kirkpatrick
& Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis, Adrienne Pon of the Mayor’s Office of Community
Development, and Dr. Elisa Stephens of the Academy of Art University.

The League is also grateful to the many that supported the event through
theirattendance, their volunteer hours, and their donation of funds, goods, and
services.Special thanks go to gala chair Chandra Friese, League president Karen
Clopton, and to the gala’s major sponsors. View a complete list of gala sponsors.
